Mission

The mission of Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE) project is to make Tuscany the “health region” by stimulating research toward applications in connections with companies and the healthcare stakeholders to develop technologies improving health and wellness.

Tuscany Health Ecosystem

Target

The main objective of the project is to stimulate, support the growth and consolidation of the life sciences ecosystem in Tuscany, in coherence with the strategic and smart specialization (RIS3) lines of the territory, through a multidisciplinary approach, high-level specialized skills, cross-contamination of technologies and knowledge, effective dialogue between researchers, clinicians, companies. THE aims to respond to the innovation and training needs of the sector, enabling the consolidation of the regional ecosystem and strengthening its competitiveness on a regional, national and global scale.

Topics

There are more than 1. 400 researchers involved in ecosystem projects, ranging from the development of advanced radiotherapies and diagnostics in oncology, preventive and predictive medicine, advanced technologies, methods and materials for human health and wellness, nanotechnology for diagnosis and therapy, implementation of innovation for health and wellness, precision medicine and personalized health care, translational medicine, biotechnology and imaging in neuroscience, robotics and automation for health, and population-based models of health management.
